Joe Leschner is from Roulette, PA and has over 20 years of emergency service experience. Since becoming a junior fire fighter at the age of 14, he has gone on to do many other things. He attained certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic when he was 16, and has also taken a Paramedic program through the Community College of Allegany County based out of Pittsburgh, PA. In December of 2000, he was hired as a 911 Dispatcher by the McKean County 911 Center in Smethport, PA. During his time there, he was also trained as an Emergency Medcial Dispatch Trainer / Manager through APCO and was the representative from the 911 Center to the McKean County Emergency Medical Services Council. Joe has also worked for the Mecklenburg EMS Agency in Charlotte, NC, for which he was a call taker, and attained a promotion to the position of Controller. Joe has also went on to work internationally in the Cayman Islands for that country's Emergency Communications Center for which he was a 911 Telecommunicator as well as the Emergency Medical Dispatch Manager / Instructor / Quality Improvement and Assurance Manager. Joe has had many volunteer affiliations as well. He has belonged to the Roulette Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Service in Roulette, PA where he was President for a period of 2 years, the Port Area Ambulance Service in Port Allegany, PA for which he was secretary and transport coordinator for 2 years, the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association in Coudersport, PA for which he was a driver and EMT-B, and finally the Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department for which he was the EMS Captain for 1 year. Joe works now in the private sector in New Orleans, LA and enjoys spending time with his daughter Deborah.
